Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president N Uttam Kumar Reddy has blamed the wrong policies of TRS government for the existing unemployment crisis in the State.
Suryapet: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president N Uttam Kumar Reddy has blamed the wrong policies of TRS government for the existing unemployment crisis in the State.
Addressing a massive public meeting on Friday in Huzur Nagar as part of CPM's Mahajana Padayatra, Uttam said the TRS government has completely neglected the jobless youth in the State. Reminding that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao himself has admitted in the Assembly of 1,07,744 vacancies in various departments in the State, he said the government has so far filled only 4,295 posts.
“Government is trying to mislead jobless youth by making mere announcements on recruitment drives. But in reality, nothing is being done to fill those posts,” he said, adding that not even 4 per cent of identified vacant posts were filled in the last 33 months.
Stating that not a single new job has been created since TRS came to power, Uttam mocked that KCR has only provided employment to all his family members.
“KCR is simply not concerned or interested in addressing the issue of unemployment. On one side, he neglected filling up of vacant posts and failed to create new jobs. On the other, he supported the demonetisation decision of BJP government which snatched lakhs of jobs in the private sector since November 8 last year," he said.
Describing KCR as anti-youth, Uttam slammed the Chief Minister for not clearing fee dues. “The Chief Minister is playing with the lives and careers of nearly 14 lakh students and their families in Telangana. He failed to honour the commitment that he gave on the floor of the Assembly on clearing dues.
In addition, the fate of nearly 2.5 lakh employees of private colleges hangs in balance as managements have failed to pay them salaries for several months. KCR must come out of the boundaries of Pragathi Bhavan to check, understand and realise the sufferings of people of Telangana,” he said.
The TPCC chief also condemned the TRS government for its failure to waive crop loans. He said the State government has recently borrowed Rs 7,400 crore for Mission Bhagiratha to make payments to the contractors. But, it was unwilling to arrange Rs 4,000 crore to free nearly 34 lakh farmers from debts.
Uttam, meanwhile, praised CPM leader Tammineni Veerabhadram for the successful conduct of Mahajana Padayatra to highlight people's issues. He said Congress party would extend total support and cooperation to the CPM in exposing the failures of TRS government.
Earlier, CPM leader Tammineni Veerabhadram addressed the meeting and praised Uttam Kumar Reddy for leading the battle against the TRS government.
