Khammam leads the pack
Khammam TRS leaders hugged the limelight by picking three of the 10 corporation posts announced by the State government on Wednesday. It is also apparent that Minister for Roads and Buildings Tummala Nageswara Rao has his say in getting posts to his followers.

Khammam, once a bastion for Left Parties before it became equally hospitable to the Telugu Desam, the Congress and the YSR Congress, has seen an unprecedented political transformation since Tummala joined the TRS, along with a horde of people’s representatives.
Since he became a Minister, there was no looking back for the ruling party in the district. However, it’s not all that easy for him as he has to ensure equal importance to the leaders who have been with the TRS since the Telangana movement and those of erstwhile cadres of the TDP who followed him blindly.
Against this backdrop, district leaders clinched three of the 10 corporation chairman posts announced by the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Wednesday.
Party district president Shaik Budan Baig, who unsuccessfully contested Khammam Lok Sabha seat on TRS ticket in 2014 election, was made the chairman of the Telangana State Industrial Development Corporation.
Former Madhira MLA Kondabala Koteswara Rao, a close aide of Tummala, was nominated for the chairman post of Telangana State Seeds Development Corporation Limited. He was the TDP district president when he joined the TRS. He also worked as the DCCB chairman.
Aswaraopet MLA Thati Venkateswarlu, who defected to TRS from the YSR Congress, has also been rewarded with the chairman post of the Telangana State Girijana Cooperative Finance Corporation. He hails from Burgampadu in Bhadradri-Kothagudem district.
It’s said that all the three leaders who represent three different social strata – minority, tribal and a dominant community in this part of the State - have the blessings of Tummala.
It may be noted here that Balasani Laxminaryana, who along with Tummala joined TRS, was already made MLC. Prior to these appointments, the district has Pidamarthi Ravi heading the SC Corporation.
