BC Commission Member visits Muslim colonies in Khammam

​Khammam: “The government is determined to develop Muslim minorities in the State. The TRS government has introduced special Gurukul schools for the children of poor Muslim families aiming to uplift them,” said BC Commission member Juluri Gowri Shankar.

During his visit to Khammam city on Tuesday, the BC Commission member inspected Khilla Bazar, Nizampet, Gollegudem and Muslim Colony areas and inquired the living conditions and problems of the people of Muslim community. Speaking on the occasion J Gowri Shankar suggested the Muslim community people to utilise various welfare schemes introduced by the government for their financial growth.

Explaining the people about the purpose of his Khammam visit, Gowri Shankar said, “The government is determined to implement 12 per cent reservations to Muslim minorities across the State. As part of that, the government directed the BC Commission to study the social, economical and living conditions of Muslim minorities in the State.”

Joint Collector T Vinay Krishna Reddy, Joint Director of Minority department Chandrashekar, Rural Development Officer Purna Chander Rao, District BC welfare officer G Hrishkesh Reddy, Minority Welfare Officer G Ramesh and Khammam Urban Tahasildhar Sri Latha were present along with others.
