Khammam: The Khammam police on Wednesday achieved a major breakthrough in connection with the case of SSC English question paper that went on viral on social networking site, WhatsApp, on Tuesday.

It may be mentioned here that the III Town police registered a case on Tuesday following the news that the question paper was doing rounds on the WhatsApp.

The investigation revealed that the management of Shivani Techno, a private school in Wardhannapet of Warangal Rural mandal, approached three government employees – Kasturi Sathish Kumar, Yellu Harshavardhan Reddy and Akkireddy Venkat Reddy – who were deputing the duty of invigilator in the Zilla Parishad School in Dantalapalli of Mahabubabad district.

According to Assistant Commissioner of Police PV Ganesh, the plan is to get the question paper in the first half-an-hour of the exam and send it to the management of the Shivani Techno School so that the latter could make arrangements to help the students studying in their school in a bid to get higher grades.

After fetching the question paper from the trio, Shivani school mess in-charge Kammagoni Raj Kumar sent it to the headmaster Naga Ravi Prasad through WhatsApp.

Later, the question paper was sent to Gundemeda Rama Linga Swamy and some others to fetch answers through the WhatsApp. But one of them leaked it to the media.

The police led by III Town Inspector M Venkat Narsaiah arrested Kasturi Sathish Kumar, Yellu Harshavardhan Reddy, Akkireddy Venkat Reddy, Kammagoni Raj Kumar and Gundemeda Rama Linga Swamy and seized their mobile phones.
