Suryapet: District Collector Surendra Mohan stated that government was providing Rs 1,500 financial aid every month to all physically-challenged persons under Aasara pension scheme.

On Thursday, the Collector participated as chief guest to an IT-based training programme organised by district welfare officer for women and child, old age and physically-challenged persons on his office premises in Suryapet.

Speaking on the occasion, Surendra Mohan said RISE organisation, established by alumni of IIT and IIM, came forward to provide training to physically-challenged persons of Suryapet district in the field of call centre training and retail marketing.

Successful youth would get placements in the reputed private organisations with good salaries, he added. Sixty unemployed physically-challenged youth of Suryapet town would be trained in the first batch, he informed.

Welfare Officer Munnaiah and APO (Pensions) Sanjeeva Rao and physically-challenged youth participated in the programme.
