Lord Sitaramachandra Swamy temple Brahmotsavam celebrations were kicked off here on Wednesday with priests performing Panchamruta Abhishekam to the deities and distribution of Ugadi Pachadi. The Brahmotsavam celebrations will last till April 11.During the period all arjiet sevas have been suspended.  

Bhadrachalam: Lord Sitaramachandra Swamy temple Brahmotsavam celebrations were kicked off here on Wednesday with priests performing Panchamruta Abhishekam to the deities and distribution of Ugadi Pachadi. The Brahmotsavam celebrations will last till April 11.During the period all arjiet sevas have been suspended.

Temple Executive Officer T Ramesh Babu on behalf of Endowments Commissioner Shiva Sankar invited Governor ESL Narasimhan and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for the Sri Rama Navami celebrations, slated for April 5.

Union Minister Bandaru Dattatreya, Endowments Minister A Indrakaran Reddy and Tourism Minister Chandulal are also invited for the celestial wedding.

Temple’s Vedic scholars and priests Vijaya Raghavan, Amaravadi Muralikrishnamacharyulu, Chitti Hanumat Sastry, Amaravadi Venkatraman and others performed the puja. Earlier, a Telugu almanac for the Hevalambi year was placed at the feet of the deities and a puja was performed.

Later, the Vedic scholars read out from the almanac explaining the gathering what is in store for the people during the year ahead.

According to the almanac, the revenue of Lord Srirama is put at 11 parts while expenditure is put at 8 parts. Similarly, the revenue of Goddess Sitamma was put at 2 parts while expenditure at 11 parts.

The temple priest -- Chennavajjula Venkateswara Avadhani -- read out the almanac, which predicted bountiful rains and bumper harvest. The almanac predicted political turbulence in the country.

The Muslim brethren greeted the temple’s Vedic scholars and administrative staff on the occasion of the Telugu New Year. They gave a greeting card to the main priest of the temple Podicheti Jagannadhacharyulu.
