Khammam: Stating that Khammam would be developed on all fronts, Roads and Buildings Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao informed that the state government has sanctioned Rs 200 crore for construction of a ring road in Khammam for better transport connectivity.

After laying foundation stones for BT roads and pipeline works at NGO’s Colony in the First Division of Khammam city on Thursday, the Minister said all the developmental activities such as road widening, central lighting, dividers and ring roads would completed in a phase wise manner.

Informing that funds were also released for construction of vegetable and meat markets, and also burial grounds, Tummala said a rail over bridge works at Dhamsalapuram were also sanctioned as part of beautification of Khammam city.

Informing that Rs 30 lakh were allotted for the development of each division in the Khammam city, Local MLA Puvvada Ajay Kumar said an extra Rs 40 lakh were sanctioned for improving the drainage system in the First Division apart from the release of funds for BT roads.

Mayor Dr Papa Lal informed that the civic body has released Rs 25 crore in year’s time for various developmental activities in Khammam. MLC Balasani Lakshminarayana, SC Corporation Chairman Pidamarthi Ravi, President of the TNGO’s Colony Housing Society Aluri Srinivas Rao, Deputy Mayor Murali Prasad, Commissioner of Khammam Municipal Corporation B Srinivas, First Division Corporator D Ram Murthy Naik, TNGO’s president P Rama Rao and others accompanied the Minister.
