Khammam: Communist Party of India (CPI) district executive secretary B G Climont demanded the State government fulfil its promise of providing basic facilities in the city. CPI general body meeting was held under the leadership of Muttaboina Ravi at 28 division of Khammam on Wednesday.

Speaking on the occasion, Climont alleged that both the State and Central governments were cheating the people by making new promises without fulfilling the earlier ones. The road widening works from Zilla Parishad to old LIC office at Wyra road are going at Snail’s pace, he alleged.

The officials left road widening works in pending after digging deep pits on both sides of the road causing problems to the commuters, he criticised.

Climont demanded that the government should provide basic facilities in the city like construction of drainages, arranging street lights, hand pumps along with allotting three acres of land to dalits and double bedroom houses to homeless people living in the city.

If the government fails to fulfil the promises it made to the people, CPI will intensify movement and will teach a fitting lesson in the coming days, he warned.

Party leaders Manda Venkateshwarlu, Mekala Pullaiah, Dhanamma, S K Yakub, Adepu Nagamani, Sujatha, Vallepau Veeranna, D Veera Swamy, Ganti Upendar, Adepu Ashok, Kummari Goapl, and Jwala Santhosh were also present along with others.
