Khammam: The Telangana Rythu Sangham alleged that the State government had utterly failed in preventing farmers’ suicides and in extending aid to the kin of deceased farmers in the state.

Sangham’s state joint secretary Nunna Nageshwar Rao along with district president Bandi Ramesh and other members released the poster of the ‘First State Level Conference’, to be held on the premises of Preston Grounds in Janagaon district from April 23 to 25, at Rythu Sangham District Office in Khammam on Friday.

Speaking on the occasion, Nageshwar Rao said the conference will discuss various issues pertaining to farmers such as minimum support price for their produce, waiving of farm loans, implementation of 2013 Land Acquisition Act, Irrigation projects and the problems of the tenant farmers.

He informed that the former MP and General Secretary of Akhil Bharatiya Kisan Sabha, Hannan Molla, along with national leaders Vijju Kishnan, Sarampalli Malla Reddy and the Chairman of the Rythu JAC, Justice Chandra Kumar, are going to attend the Conference along with as many as 600 representatives from various farmers’ societies across the State.

He said that a programme will be finalised in the conference to start a massive movement demanding the government to sanction Rs 3 lakh of loan to the farmers without interest along with seeds, fertilizers and pesticides on subsidy and to issue the pension Rs 3,000 to farmers who crossed 60 years of age, along with free health cards.
