Khammam: All India Trade Union Congress (AITUC) district president B J Climont alleged that minimum wages policy was not implemented for any section of working community present in the State.

He released a poster of ‘131st May Day celebrations’ along with district general secretary of AITUC Shingu Narasimha Rao here at Giri Prasad Bhavan in Khammam on Tuesday.

Speaking on the occasion, Climont said the workers were facing severe problems with minimum wages and were unable to nourish their families properly.

Stating that AITUC had taken up several movements for the benefit of workers, Climont reminded that they were still fighting for the welfare of workers demanding the government to provide free education and health services to the workers and their families apart from allotting double bedroom houses.

He urged the workers to unite for the fight for protecting their rights and for implementation of minimum wages policy. He further urged the workers to celebrate the May Day on a very grand note by hoisting flags and organising meetings across the district.

AITUC leaders Manda Venkateshwarlu, Gade Laxminarayana, Y Sambasiva Reddy, Mekala Srinivas Rao, district general secretary of Anganwadi Union Sitha Malakshmi, auto workers union leaders Mohan Rao, representative of Cooperative Bank Nagendra and the regional secretary of the Telangana RTC Pati Appa Rao attended the meeting.
