AFIS launched in Komaram Bheem district
New Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS) and scanning software were launched in Asifabad on Monday. With the help of new software, the finger print of any accused may be obtained and could be uploaded directly to the central server.

This will save time and result in increased efficiency using mobile security check system. Finger prints of accused may be checked on the spot, which will help in nabbing pickpocketers, property offenders and other criminals.
Superintendent of Police Sunpreet Singh said that keeping in view of the rise in property offences and as part of prevention and detection of crime, using of such equipment is very essential and useful to police officers.
It is also decided to issue 17 mobile devices to identified police stations in the district, he added. The SP appealed all the participants to utilise this programme and get acquainted with the latest technology in collecting the database in order to identify the accused and in detection of cases quickly.
