Khammam: To prevent untoward incidents and to keep check on illegal activities, the Khammam police on Tuesday conducted cordon and search operations.

After receiving orders from Commissioner of Police Tafseer Iqbal, about 100 police personnel led by ACP Genesh conducted cordon and search operations here at Vikalangula Colony, Hanuman Nagar, Jagjivan Ram Colony, Savarala Colony and Vivekananda Colony under Khammam Two Town here in the early hours on Tuesday.

Speaking on the occasion, the ACP said as a precautionary measure to prevent any untoward incident and to nab the suspicious persons hiding in interior places of the city, cordon and search operation was conducted. Asking the people to be aware while making vehicle purchase from unknown persons, the ACP suggested them not to purchase vehicles that lack proper documents, otherwise they have to face problems if they were caught during such search operations.

He further suggested people to pass on the information immediately to the police by dialing 100 if they notice any suspicious person in their locality. Meanwhile, the police seized 35 two-wheelers and nine auto-rickshaws for lacking proper documents. Circle Inspectors Rehaman, Raja Reddy, Venkanna Babu, Nagendra Chary, Anjaneyulu, Mohan Rao and Anjali took part in the search operation along with SI’s and constables.
