Khammam: The call for the state-wide bandh of all educational institutions given by several student unions was successful, in Khammam on Friday. The representatives of several student unions took out a rally from Government Women’s Degree College to Collectorate in protesting against the state government for its negligent towards solving the issues of students.

Speaking on the occasion, Peoples Democratic Students Union (PDSU) district secretary Manda Suresh alleged that in three years of TRS ruling, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao failed to fulfill even a single promise he made to the students.

Instead of strengthening the government education sector by allotting funds and solving the problems in government schools, colleges and universities, the government is investing crores of rupees for the construction of Pragathi Bhavans’ and temples, he alleged.

Education should be provided to everyone irrespective of castes to develop equality among students. But by opening Gurukul Residential schools in the name of castes, the Chief Minister is trying to divide people in the name of castes which may further lead to a lot of inequality among students and between people in future, he criticised.

“Without introducing mid-day meals scheme in Junior Colleges, without releasing fee dues and scholarships, without appointing regular teachers in government schools, colleges and in universities, how the Chief Minister is going to achieve Bangaru Telangana?” he questioned.

Stating that people and students of the state were observing every move of KCR, he said they would teach the TRS a fitting lesson if it fails to address the issues of students.

District secretaries of SFI Naga Raju, TVV Swathi, AISF J Ranjith Kumar, Swapna, Chintala Ramesh, Azad, Srikanth Reddy, Gopi, Upendar, Pavithra, Anusha, Mahi, Mamatha, Uma Mahesh, Sagar and Gayatri were present along with others.
