Khammam: District Collector D S Lokesh Kumar ordered the officials of various departments to make elaborate arrangements for celebrating August 15 on a grand note.

He chaired a review meeting with the officials to discuss on the arrangements for August 15 celebrations at Pragna Conference hall in the Collectorate here on Tuesday.

Speaking at the meeting, the Collector said the Roads and Buildings Minister, Tummala Nageshwar Rao, will hoist the national flag on August 15 to be organised at Police Parade Grounds here. The officials were ordered to take all necessary steps by making elaborate arrangements on the occasion on a grand note along with arranging various stalls and drinking water facility. He told them to keep the cheques ready for distribution to the beneficiaries selected under various welfare schemes.

Design tableau displaying the details of various welfare schemes and developmental activities that were implemented by the State government under several departments on the occasion along with taking steps for organising various cultural activities and photo exhibition that reflects national integration, ordered the Collector.

Lokesh Kumar directed the officials to prepare a list of government employees by selecting one employee from each department and submit the list by August 9 for giving appreciation certificates to the employees, who rendered better services.

Joint Collector T Vinay Krishna Reddy, District Revenue Officer J Shiva Srinivas, Zilla Parishad Chief Executive Officer Marapaka Nagesh, DRDA Project Director Muralidhar Rao, City Municipal Commissioner B Srinivas, District Educational Officer Vijay Lakshmi Bhai, Assistant Commissioner of Police Ganesh, Rural Development Officer Purnachandram, Tahsildar Sri Latha, District Panchayat Raj Officer Srinivas Reddy, District Medical and Health Officer Kondal Rao and District Public Relation Officer M Srinivas Rao were present along with others.
