Khammam: The intensive revision of electoral process in Khammam and Palair Assembly segments is completed as per the orders received by the State Election Commission, informed District Collector D S Lokesh Kumar here on Thursday.

The Collector chaired a meeting with the representatives of various political parties here at Pragna Conference Hall in Collectorate.

Speaking on the occasion, the Collector said that proposals were made for sending the list of pollling stations to the State Election Commission.

He said they request the SEC for establishing nine new polling stations in Khammam constituency and six in Palair constituency through intensive revision of electoral process by fixing boundaries of certain roads which were under corporation limits and revenue villages present in rural areas.

Stating that booth-level officers had visited every house for collecting the details of voters, the Collector said after receiving approval from SEC, the voters list along with exact location of polling stations would be declared.

He also informed that the as SECs order, about 3,373 Electronic Voting machines were identified using mobile app and the counting process would be carried from August 1 to 10.

Returning Officers of Khammam constituency Purnachandram and Palair constituency T A V Naga Lakshmi, Urban Returning Officer Sri Latha, Rural Returning Officer Narasimha Rao, Additional Returning Officer of Nelakondapalli, Kusumanchi, Thirumalayapalem and Raghunathapalem mandals and Deputy Tahsildars S V Ramana, K V Pavan and Superintendent K Ram Babu attended the meeting along with the representatives of various political parties.
