On Monday, the Minister launched the distribution programme of 10,000 clay Ganesha idols at the Collectorate. He appreciated the efforts of District Collector Surendra Mohan for creating awareness on clay idols.

Stating that in last few years, many countries have woken up to the harsh reality of environmental pollution, the Minister expressed concern over the inclusion of Ganesh idols in the preventive list. “All Telangana rural festivals has common motive of protection of environment, including the Ganesh festival,” he added.

As part of protecting the environment, for the last three years, the district administration and NGOs of the Suryapet were striving hard to create awareness among people to opt for clay idols.

Similarly, in Nalgonda, students carried out a huge rally to promote clay Ganeshas concept among the people.
