Mahbubnagar gets ready for fishlings distribution
The Fisheries department of Mahbubnagar is getting ready for the large-scale distribution of fishlings to all the Fisheries Cooperative Societies in the district. As part of the preparation, the department officials have sought list of ponds and lakes from the irrigation department.
Mahbubnagar: The Fisheries department of Mahbubnagar is getting ready for the large-scale distribution of fishlings to all the Fisheries Cooperative Societies in the district. As part of the preparation, the department officials have sought list of ponds and lakes from the irrigation department.
“This year, we are planning to distribute fishlings to all the Fisheries Cooperative Societies for 100 per cent subsidy. As part of this, we have sought the list of filled ponds and lakes from the Irrigation officials,” informed Khadir, Assistant Director, Fisheries Department, Mahbubnagar.
Before distribution of fishlings, the department is planning to conduct an awareness programme on the fish culture to the representatives of all the Fisheries Cooperative Societies in the district. However, in those villages which are not members of Fisheries Cooperative Societies, the village secretary and the Village Revenue Officer must take the responsibility of releasing fishlings into the ponds and lakes connected to their respective villages, informed the Assistant Director.
For taking up the fish distribution programme in a big way in the district, District Revenue Officer Venkateshwarlu, ZPCEO Kamraiah, District Planning Officer Venkateshwarlu, Agriculture Officer G Manohar along with Executive Engineers (IB) and officials from Fisheries department held a coordination meeting at the Joint Collelctor’s office on Monday to chart out a comprehensive plan for the upcoming fish distribution programme.
