Nalgonda: Stating that the TRS government was not evincing interest to celebrate the State Liberation Day due to pressure from the Majlis party, BJP state president Dr K Laxman advised Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao to stop vote bank politics to win 2019 elections.

Demanding the government to celebrate the State Liberation Day officially on September 17, BJP district party leaders and cadre blocked the roads leading to Collectorate on Monday. Addressing the gathering, Laxman questioned KCR’s demand of conducting the Liberation Day officially during the separate statehood movement.

The BJP leader alleged that the police was also acting to favor of ruling party and filing false cases against opposition party leaders for raising voices against the government.

“The Centre is spending crores of rupees for the welfare people in the state. However, Telangana government is diverting the funds to other programmes and clamming them as state funds,” he said, calling upon the party leaders and cadre to hoist national flags in all villages in the district on September 17.

On the day, hundreds of saffron party activists reached the Collectorate in a rally from Clock Tower Centre and tried to enter into the Collectorate, However, police foiled their attempt and shifted them to police stations.
