Nalgonda: District Collector Gaurav Uppal ordered the officials concerned to accelerate the land acquisition for the construction of reservoirs, canals and irrigation projects.

The Collector conducted a review meeting with line department officials at his chambers on Wednesday. Addressing the officials, he advised them to pay special attention to land acquisition for Dindi Lift Irrigation Project.

He informed that oustees who voluntarily come forward to give up their lands for Dindi project would get Rs 5.15 lakh per acre as compensation, while others on whom the government slaps the Land Acquisition Act would get Rs 2.40 lakh to 3.50 lakh as compensation per acre.

In case of houses, Rs 11.40 lakh would be given which includes Rs 5 lakh as compensation, Rs 5 lakh as bonus, Rs 1 lakh towards transport charges and Rs 40,000 towards miscellaneous expenses would be paid.

He directed the officials to constitute a committee with oustees of respective villages and asked them to submit a detailed report to him after conducting meetings with the villagers.

The Collector later conducted special meetings with officials of Dindi Lift Irrigation Project, SLBC, AMRP and Dindi Balancing Reservoir separately.

Joint Collector Naryana Reddy, DRO Kheemya Naik, Lift Irrigation SE Venkateshwarlu, IB SE Hamid Khan, RDOs of Nalgonda and Devarakonda and engineers attended the meeting.
