According to reliable sources, supporters of ZP Chairperson Balu Naik tried to stop the sarees distribution programme to beneficiaries by Local MLA Ravindra Kumar.
They argued with the MLA and questioned him how he could distribute the sarees without giving informing them. Protesting the act of Balu Naik supporters, the followers of the MLA raised slogans in support of their leader.
When the situation turned violent, police caned the supporters of both groups to disperse them. They further arrested few protesters to bring the volatile situation under control.
