The Laughing Club of Mahabubnagar has distributed free plates to the 130 newly admitted students of Zilla Parishad High School in Marikal on Friday.

Mahabubnagar: The Laughing Club of Mahabubnagar has distributed free plates to the 130 newly admitted students of Zilla Parishad High School in Marikal on Friday.

According to Balalingaiah, a senior teacher at ZPHS Marikal, the new students who had joined the school recently were facing lot of problems due to lack of adequate number of plates to feed during the mid-day meals in the afternoon.

“Last year, our school had a strength of 580 students and all the students were having plates to eat without any problem. But this year, 130 new students have been admitted in the 6th class raising the school total strength to 710.

We were facing problems due to due to shortage of plates to feed the new students. We approached the Laughing Club of Mahabubnagar and they readily agreed to donate the steel plates for the students,” informed Balalingaiah.

The laughing club of Mahabubnagar is an NGO, taking up various welfare programmes for the students and the poor school going children.

While speaking at the plate distribution programme, Mahesh Kumar, Secretary of Laughing Club of Mahabubnagar said, “Balalingaiah approached us and said that he wanted to donate plates for the students.

We readily obliged and donated 130 plates. In addition to this, we do lot of charity to help the poor and school children.”

N.Madhusudhan Reddy, Headmaster of ZPHS Marikal along with other teachers, Narayana, Surender Reddy, Vijay, and Laxman participated in the programme.
