Gadwal: With an aim to improve healthcare standards in the Gadwal Area Hospital, District Collector Rajat Kumar Saini has directed the officials concerned and contractors to prepare a detailed plan for providing amenities for the attendants of patients.

At present, the district hospital lack facilities for the attendants of patients. The attendants have been facing hardships when they accompany the patients and have to stay back for two to three days to attend to their dear ones.

In view of this, the Collector directed the health officials concerned to prepare a detailed plan for construction of a shed, latrines and bathrooms. In addition to this, a shed for cooking and separate open place for washing and drying of cloths is also proposed. “We want to improve the facilities at the district area hospital not only for the patients, but also for their attendants.

The concerned officials and contractors are directed to submit a detailed planning and estimate within two days. Accordingly, we will allocate budget from Collector’s special funds for improving amenities in the hospital,” informed the Collector.

Another issue that is plaguing the hospital is cleanliness and frequent trespassing of stray animals. To make the hospital premises safer and cleaner, the Collector has also directed the officials to construct a compound wall.
