Adilabad: Even as the trouble-torn erstwhile Adilabad district remained peaceful for the last 48 hours, the police are in not taking any chances. From keeping an intensive vigil in sensitive villages, the police have taken all measures to tackle any situation.

Besides launching an exclusive mobile number (94401 80851) for receiving complaints, the police manned its personnel at every vantage point so that the forces could reach any area within 5 minutes.

The police so far conducted meetings and tried to instil confidence among the residents of around 300 villages. They also urged them not to get agitated by any kind of instigations or to rumours. Speaking to media persons at Utnoor on Tuesday, IG Y Nagi Reddy said that the authorities had taken all possible measures to maintain law and order in the Agency.

Adilabad Superintendent of Police Vishnu S Warrier urged the people to maintain restraint and not share any gossips or messages capable of creating commotion. District Collector D Divya appealed to people not to get agitated with the recent developments as the government is trying to resolve all the issues in an amicable manner. Karimnagar DIG Pramod Kumar and Mancherial Collector RV Karnan were among others present.
