3 killed, six sustain injuries in accident
Three persons were killed, and six others sustained severe injuries in a road accident involving a van, coming from Guntur, and tipper near the Mondikunta Krishna canal in Aswapuram mandal in the early hours of Wednesday. The victims were identified as S Gopaiah, van driver T Bagga Rao and a labourer S Kanaka Rao.
Kothagudem: Three persons were killed, and six others sustained severe injuries in a road accident involving a van, coming from Guntur, and tipper near the Mondikunta Krishna canal in Aswapuram mandal in the early hours of Wednesday. The victims were identified as S Gopaiah, van driver T Bagga Rao and a labourer S Kanaka Rao.
They were residents of Jangareddygudem in West Godavari district. While Gopaiah and Bagga Rao were killed on the spot, Kanaka Rao succumbed to the injuries at the Bhadrachalam area hospital. Gopaiah and Kanaka Rao were laying BSNL pipelines.
The mishap occurred when they went to the ill-fated van to unload wire bundles and the tipper crashed into the vehicle from behind. Aswapuram CI A Narender, SIs Ravinder and Ramji visited the accident spot. The tipper driver was taken into custody for questioning. Investigation is on.
