Khammam: The district president of MBC (Most Backward Classes) Sangham Pakala Upendar demanded the government to release about funds of Rs 1,000 crore allotted to MBC Corporation besides declaring the list of various castes included under MBC category.

The representatives of the Sangham held a general body meeting at R&B guest house in Khammam on Thursday. Releasing the Sangham’s calendar, Upendar said that by declaring the list of various castes present under MBC category, the government must sanction Rs 6 lakh loan to all members and also release funds of Rs 1,000 crore allotted to the MBC Corporation.

He alleged that the upper caste people were harassing and attacking, and in some instances even killing the people belonging to MBC category. To prevent such attacks, a law must be enacted besides taking stringent action against those indulging in attacks.

He also demanded the government to hike the Aasara pension to Rs 3,000 to all those dependent on caste-based professions and those belonging to MBC category who have crossed 50 years of age, besides allotting double bedroom houses and three acres of land.

Sangham leaders’ T Lakshmi Narayana, Donepalli Venkanna, Chada Anand Kumar, T Varaprasad Rao, N Narasimha Rao, P Prakash Rao, Y Sitharamulu, M Bhadraiah, D Ramesh, A Venkateshwarlu, Singa Venkanna and Harinath were present along with others.
