Bhadrachalam: By-election for seven MPTCs ended peacefully here on Thursday. Voters exercised their votes at polling stations set up at Mandal Parishad and B Ed colleges in the town, amidst tight security. As many as 1,807 voters waited for their turn to vote from 7 am to 5 pm on the day.

Representatives from CPM, TRS, TDP, BJP were in the fray. Polling percentage was recorded as 57.72. Bhadrachalam CI B Srinivasulu supervised the security while 25 proceeding officers participated in the election. Returning Officer Ch Rammurthy, Assistant Returning Officers PV Ramakrishna and Macharla Ramadevi supervised the election procedure. The counting will be held on January 13.
