Encouraged by CSIR Director Dr S Chandrashekar, a scientists’ group from Indian Institute of Chemical Technology (CSIR), Hyderabad, met Asifabad District Collector Prashanth Jeevan Patil here on Friday.  

Asifabad: Encouraged by CSIR Director Dr S Chandrashekar, a scientists’ group from Indian Institute of Chemical Technology (CSIR), Hyderabad, met Asifabad District Collector Prashanth Jeevan Patil here on Friday. Speaking at the meeting, Collector Patil said the scientists came here to discuss the measures to solve the problems of students, how to improve school standards, how to prevent diseases spread through mosquitoes through their institute. They will also discuss on how to improve educational standards in the district.

He informed that interested youth, aged below 30 years and BSc and MSc degree holders can apply for youth skill development programme. CSIR will give training and also provide employment opportunities. The interested candidates should submit applications at PD DRDA office and should contact on mobile: 9177202609 for further details. The scientists said that pink worm in cotton can be prevented by using phiromon technology and this will even control stem eating pest in paddy.

They said that phiromon lure making centre will be set up at district headquarters with the help of CSIR and the cost of this is lesser than pesticides. Scientist Dr M Chandrashekar, senior principal scientists Dr Nagendra Babu, Dr M Srinivas Rao, and Dr Rathod Aravind Kumar, CPO Krishnaiah, DRDA PD Venkat, DEO Ravi, district health officer Subbarayudu and others participated in the meeting.
