Stop scheme benefits to those lacking ISLs

Kothagudem: “Stop the benefits of government schemes to those, who haven’t constructed individual toilets in their houses,” District Collector Rajiv Gandhi Hanumanthu directed the officials of department concerned. He held a review meeting with district rural development officer, project director P Jagath Kumar Reddy here on Thursday.

The government had released Rs 14 crores for the construction of individual toilets under Swachh Bharat scheme, he said. About 2,257 units with an estimated cost of Rs 2,514.31 lakh were distributed to beneficiaries belonging to Scheduled Caste. Directing the officials to conduct Sadarem camp in Kothagudem on February 28, the Collector told them to give wide publicity to the government schemes in villages.

He checked the implementation of the schemes of TRICOR, Swachh Bharath, Schedule Caste scheme and discussed them with the officials concerned during the meeting.The officers explained the implementation of various government schemes in the district through powerpoint presentation. District Panchayat Officer Asha Latha and others attended the meeting.
