National Women’s Day celebrations were held on a grand manner in the district. All offices and voluntary organisations celebrated the occasion by organising special programmes.  A large number of women participated in the programmes held across the district. Dressed in colourful attire and sporting ornaments, women were seen in their best during the celebrations.

As part of the programme, women employees were felicitated by their respective officers in their offices. Several special programmes were conducted during the day. District Collector Rajiv Gandhi Hanumanthu attended the programme organised in the District Rural Development Agency office as the chief guest.

Addressing the gathering, he said there was no difference between women and men and both are equal in the society. The woman was the better manager of the family, he added. He said the best example for women power and their efficiency was that in Telangana, the number of women IAS officers was relatively high.

They were better administrators and proved their mettle during their stint as government officers, he said adding that there should be no gender discrimination in educations system and services. He said women played a key role in family as well as society. After the meeting, the District Collector felicitated women employees of the department.

The Police Department also celebrated National Women’s Day in police stations across the district. In Palvoncha, Training Officer Rajesh and Deputy Superintendent of Police Srinivas Rao felicitated women constables during the celebrations.

They said women were surging ahead in the society like bullets in all different fields. In Bhadrachalam, the Sri Sita Ramachandra Swamy Temple Assistant Executive Officer Sravan Kumar conducted a programme to celebrate the International Women’s Day and felicitated women employees.
