Khammam: District Secretary of the Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) Nunna Nageswara Rao here on Monday demanded that the government allot double bedroom houses to all eligible homeless poor and to those living on the banks of the Gollapadu Channel.

The representatives of the CPI-M party under the leadership of Yerra Srinivas Rao visited the Sundarayya Nagar region and held a meeting with the poor.

Speaking on the occasion, Nageswara Rao alleged that the TRS government was showing partiality in sanctioning of housing sites and allotment of 2 BHK houses to the poor.

He claimed that the CPI-M had forced the successive governments to allot house sites to the poor. The TRS government to promised to allot house sites and two-bedroom houses to the poor, but it failed to do so, he said. The government had allotted 2,000 double bedroom houses to Khammam constituency, but constructed only 200 houses.

The CPI-M would stage a massive dharna in front of Tahsildar offices on May 24, demanding that the government fulfil its promsies.

CPI-M party leaders Yerra Srikanth, T Lingaiah, B Yakaiah, Yerra Gopi, B Srinivas, B Veerababu, V Nageswara Rao, R Hanumantha Chary, P Upendra Chary, G Pullaiah, M Srinivas, Y Nagesh, S K Kulsana Begum and R Pushpathi were present at the programme.
