Khammam: Progressive Democratic Student Union (PDSU) activists here on Tuesday demanded that the Education Department take actions against the management of the private schools collecting high fees.

After staging a sit-in protest in front of the District Education Office, the PDSU activists submitted a memorandum to District Education Officer Madansudhan, urging him to take action against the private schools’ managements.

Speaking on the occasion, PDSU district secretary Namala Azad said some parents were admitting their children in private school which did not get recognition from the government.

Some of the private and corporate educational institutions were fleeing the parent by collecting high fees on th pretext of admission fees, material fees and maintenance. The officials of the Education Department had failed to take action against those schools, he said.

He demanded that the officials take immediate action against the management of the private educational institutions that are run without recognition. He urged the parents not to admit their children in the unrecognised schools and colleges. PDSU leaders D Swarna, A Sai, Unesh, Shirisha, Ramya and Jhansi were took part in the protest.
