Bhadrachalam: Water level in the river Godavari is rising steadily in Bhadrachalam, however, it slowed down a bit on Thursday. The water level was reached 31.5 feet mark on Thursday evening due to rains in the upper catchment area.
The concerned officers said, the water level was stabled at 30.5 at midnight on Wednesday. In the past 24 hours the water level rose only one foot. The flood water has submerged most of the bathing steps of the gat, the devotees are facing problem in taking holy dip in Godavari.
One devotee from Hyderabad said, “I wished to take darshan of Lord Rama after the holy dip in Godavari but here the situation is different. Due to the rising flood water on the bathing steps it is not possible for me to take a holy dip”.
