Notorious gang of chain snatchers arrested in Nagarkurnool

Nagarkurnool: The police have arrested a gang of 5 chain snatchers in Achampet mandal of Nagarkurnool district on Friday and recovered 30 tola gold and 2 cars from their possession.

According to Sunpreet Singh, Superintendent of Police Nagarkurnool, the notorious inter-state gang was involved in many chain snatching and robbery cases in various police station limits in Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthy, Gadwal, Kottakota, Jadcherla, Achampet and other districts. The culprits were already having as many as 12 cases booked against them in various police stations and the police were on a look out for them for a long time.

On Friday, when the police were on a regular vehicle checking drive, they intercepted them and after detailed interrogation the police identified them as the notorious chain snatching gang and arrested them. “We have arrested a gang of 5 persons who were involved in various chain snatching incidents in Nagarkurnool and Achampet police limits and recovered 5 tola gold and 2 four-wheelers from their possession,” the SP said.
“We have also identified them to be involved in various other cases as there have been already 12 cases booked against them earlier. We will further interrogate them and find out more information about their activities,” he added.
