Newly constructed Police Barracks constructed at a cost of Rs.3.42 cr. was inaugurated by Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan and Lady Governor Vimala Narasimhan at Raj Bhavan on Friday.

Hyderabad : Newly constructed Police Barracks constructed at a cost of Rs.3.42 cr. was inaugurated by Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan and Lady Governor Vimala Narasimhan at Raj Bhavan on Friday.

The construction of the police barracks was necessitated with demolition of the old quarters which were in dilapidated condition. Budget for the construction of the Police Barracks at Raj Bhavan was provided by the Telangana Government.

The 150-bedded police barracks named 'Sunivas' was consists of ground plus three floors with total plinth area of 15,823 sft. The Police barracks also consists of a dining hall apart from volley ball court, Yoga hall, Gym facility, Library and store room. The Police barracks building is connected to the solar power system existing in the Raj Bhavan premises.

Speaking after inauguration of the Police Barracks, the Governor said that the Barracks were meant for the benefit of police personnel deployed on the security of the Governor and told them to make better use of it. He also said that the inmates of the Police Barracks should ensure that the barracks premise is kept clean at all times.

Principal Secretary to Governor Harpreet Singh, Advisors to Governor APVN Sarma and A.K. Mohanty were also present on the occasion.
