Panchayat Raj polls will be held on time: Jupally
Panchayat Raj Minister Jupally Krishna Rao on Wednesday said that the Panchayat Raj elections would be held as per schedule.
Hyderabad: Panchayat Raj Minister Jupally Krishna Rao on Wednesday said that the Panchayat Raj elections would be held as per schedule.
Speaking to media persons in Bhongir, the minister said that the Telangana Government would amend the existing Panchayat Raj laws to make Gram Panchayats and local bodies accountable. It will also provide an equal opportunity for the growth of rural areas. Further, he said several new Gram Panchayats were being constituted by upgrading the Tandas. He said all Collectors have been asked to furnish the list of eligible Tandas in their respective districts.
Criticising the opposition parties, Jupally said that the TRS would register a historic victory in Panchayat Raj elections and all opposition parties would lose their relevance.
