In the wake of the increasing number of job frauds, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has issued an alert to the unemployed youth to be cautious when approaching overseas recruitment agencies.

Despite repeated directions from the MEA on not to consider unregistered and fictitious recruitment agencies, the youth are apparently still falling in trouble after payment of money to agencies seeking jobs abroad.

In a letter to Hyderabad City Police Commissioner, the city unit of Protector of Immigrants from the MEA requested last month for necessary action to be taken against an illegal overseas employee recruitment agency in Basheerbagh, M/s Travel Point HR Solutions.

Stating that the M/s Travel Point HR Solutions was not a registered agency, the letter pointed out that only registered recruiting agents under the MEA were authorised to recruit employees for overseas employment.

Youngsters can enquire about the recruitment agencies that were registered with the MEA by logging to the website: https://emigrate.gov.in/ext.

Advantages to approaches a registered agency include not only reducing the chances of being duped to zero but also help sort out issues after going abroad.

Also, the owner of the agency must provide a bank guarantee of Rs 50 lakh with the MEA for registration which further lessens the chances of agencies indulging in fraud as the MEA would keep a tab on it. MEA is registered with as many as 1,200 agencies.
