The YSRCP has got a shot in the arm when powerful TDP leader Jyothula Chantibabu has left the TDP and joined the YSRCP. Chantibabu, a powerful leader, is a bitter opponent of Jyothula Nehru, who won on YSRCP ticket and then defected to the TDP. It may be recalled that Jyothula Nehru left TDP in 2008 to join the YSRCP and defected from YSRCP in 2016.

Chantibabu, on the other hand, stood rock solid with the TDP. However, Chandrababu chose to pander to Jyothula Nehru and did not even bother to call on Chantibabu, who recently had lost his mother.

The buzz in Jaggampet assembly constituency in East Godavari is that the YSRCP would field Chantibabu from Jaggampet. So, it will be a battle royale in Jaggampet between Chantibabu and defector Jyothula Nehru.
