Speaking during the Question hour, KTR said that the Metro works from Mahatma Gandhi Bus Station to the Jubilee Bus Station were currently in progress.

He also added that the metro project from Falaknuma to Rajiv Gandhi International Airport is in preparation for the government is planning to give connectivity to the airport from all the three metro corridors.

Replying to a query by Majlis Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi and BJP floor leader G Kishan Reddy on the reason behind delay in taking up six kilometre metro rail stretch in the old city, the Municipal Minister informed that the state government would take up metro rail works in the old city soon and asserted the reason behind the delay to be due to religious structures and keeping the sensitivity of the issue.

He added that the state government would take up the project with its own funds if the project developer L&T Metro Rail Hyderabad did not take up the works.
