A retired HAL employee and his wife were thrashed by their sons who later forced them out of the house in Hyderabad.

Vijaya Durga Devi on Tuesday lodged a complaint with the Jubilee Hills police stating that her sons - RV Suresh Babu, an employee of a chit fund firm, and R Srikanth, a constable with City Armed Reserve (CAR), forced her and her husband, R Venkateswarulu out of the house.

The incident took place at Rehmat Nagar in Borabanda. According to the police, the two sons live on the first floor of their house while the parents lived in the ground floor and the top floor was given on rent.

The house built with Venkateswarulu’s retirement benefits and the old couple survive on rents.

Based on the complaint, Durga Devi alleged that her sons and their wives have been torturing them with an intention to force us out of the house since 2016.

She stated that her sons dragged Venkateswarulu out of the building and beat him with sticks on May 12 and thrashed her too when she intervened.

A case has been registered against both the sons under sections 324, 506 of IPC and Section 24 of Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens’ Act, 2007. Police are yet to make any arrests.
