After taking a gap for five years director Kiruthiga Udhayanidhi is back again with an interesting thriller Kaasi. Starring Vijay Antony in the lead role the film has created much hype with its trailer and it finally hit the screens now. Let's see whether it reached the expectations or not.

Story:

Bharath (Vijay Antony) is an NRI-doctor. He gets the shock of his life when his mother falls ill. He wants his kidney to be donated to his ailing mother, but it doesn't match and eventually, the situation throws a bitter truth at him. The hunt for his real parents in India forms the crux of the story.

Performances:

Like his previous films, Vijay Anthony did a great job with multiple shades as Bharath. But the audience might feel bored with too many shades in a single frame. It is definitely a good attempt by the director. Anjali looks quite impressive in her cameo and the other actors did a great job in their respective roles. Amritha, Shilpa Manjunath, and Rakesh Prudhvi will be seen in supporting roles in the movie and are good in their limited roles.

Plus Points:

Interesting Screenplay
Vijay Antony's characterization

Minus points:

Cinematography
Production department

Technical Aspects:

One needs to appreciate the director's vision and his way of narrating a simple story. The direction department is one of the biggest assets to this project. The film has an interesting screenplay and gripping narration. Vijay Antony failed to impress the audience with his music. The director might have chosen some other music director for the film, as BGM is important for a film like Kasi. The cinematography is another biggest disadvantage of the film. The production values might be better.

Verdict:

Finally, Kaasi is a film with good content and gripping story, but few drawbacks like BGM, and cinematography. One needs to appreciate Vijay Antony and the director for their unique story selection and the team tried to reach the expectations of the audience. Even though somewhat it looks messy, the audience will definitely get impressed with the hard work of the team especially Vijay Antony.
