GHMC to launch Command Control Centre

Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), in a first-kind of initiative, is all set to establish a Command Control Centre (CCC) at its head office.

The Centre will monitor relief measures, administration and developmental works across Hyderabad. Particularly, during the monsoon, the Centre will monitor the situation and initiate measures. Also, the surveillance cameras of Hyderabad, Cyberabad and Rachakonda are being synchronized with the CCC.

Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao will be inaugurating the facility in the next few days. According to the GHMC officials, the aim is to track internal operations, coordinate with different departments during heavy rains, Ganesh festivities and other occasions.

Waterlogging points, uprooted trees, disruption of the power supply and several other situations can be handled effectively with the help of the footage on the screens at the centre.

The CCC will track garbage vehicles, sweeping machines, streetlight functioning and biometric attendance system internally. So far, all the operations of over four lakh streetlights were synchronized with the centre.

When it comes to the movement of garbage vehicles, the CCC will monitor the location of the vehicle, apart from the speed, and loading and unloading points.
