An additional diving team from Eastern Naval Command was dispatched to Rajahmundry by a second Dornier aircraft to augment search efforts in the River Godavari.

One naval helicopter UH3H has been positioned at Rajahmundry Airport Sunday morning and will be will joining search operation once the weather clears up in the search area. Search efforts are affected due to inclement weather at the incident area. Already one Eastern Naval Command rescue team deployed last night to locate the missing persons in the boat mishap.

On a request from East Godavari District administration, the Eastern Naval Command dispatched a diving team to augment the Search and Rescue efforts in Godavari River where a country boat capsized at Pasuvula Lanka near Polavarm, Rajahmundry yesterday.

The diving team with associated diving equipment was airlifted by a Dornier aircraft from INS Dega, Visakhapatnam to Rajahmundry last night. The diving team reached the incident area early morning and commenced search operations.
