Nizamabad: A notice has been sent by the Nizamabad police to the residence of former Mayor Sanjay under the CrPC 41 asking him to surrender before Fourth Town police station within 24 hours.
Based on the directions of the High Court, the notice was served to attend the investigation.
Following the complaint submitted against him by the girl students of Shankari College of Nursing, Sanjay has been evading arrest.
The students had met Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy last week and complained against Sanjay that he had harassed them sexually.
The police registered cases under Sections 354, 354A, and 342 of IPC and provisions of Nirbhaya Act against Sanjay. A special team was also formed to nab him.
