New York City has been adding more hotel rooms at a faster rate than the national average

New York City has been adding more hotel rooms at a faster rate than the national average, with new properties springing up as existing ones are being spruced up across the five boroughs. From boutique hotels and family-friendly properties to luxury and super-luxury brands, the City's rapid development brings depth and design to its mix of its already-diverse accommodations, as well as more affordable options, greater sustainability and the latest in amenities

InterContinental New York Barclay (Opening April, 2016)
InterContinental New York Barclay, Midtown, Manhattan InterContinental's grand hotel in New York is now accepting reservations for its newly renovated incarnation from May 1. The renovation will see it restored to its original, 'Federal-style' elegance, which dates back to 1926. It's well-placed for exploring Fifth Avenue, Madison Avenue and MoMA

The William Vale (Opening late June 2016)
The William Vale, Williamsburg, Brooklyn Williamsburg gets another boutique hotel in April, in the form of The William Vale. Its highlight will be the indoor/outdoor bar on the 23rd floor, with views of Manhattan across the water. There will also be a 60-ft outdoor lap pool (the longest in New York), and a mini-park, located above street level.

The Beekman (Opening late July 2016)
The Beekman, Lower Manhattan, New York Around the corner from the Four Seasons is perhaps the most highly anticipated New York opening of recent times: The Beekman. The redbrick, turreted building was one of the first high-rises in the city, and it has a storied past - it once housed the city's first theatre (Shakespeare's Hamlet had its premiere here in 1761). The nine-storey atrium will remain the heart of the hotel, while the restaurants, headed up by Tom Colicchio and Keith McNally, will be sure to bring the city's discerning crowd in droves.

Four Season Downtown (Opening late Summer 2016)
At the crossroads of Tribeca and the Financial District, Four Seasons Hotel New York Downtown, designed by famed architect Robert A.M. Stern and global design stars Yabu Pushelberg, adds its classic architectural profile to the world's most famous skyline. Experience Cut, Wolfgang Puck's first NYC restaurant, and discover a New York luxury hotel with Downtown's creativity and confidence, surrounded by the "new" New York.
