Tollywood actress Sakshi Kakkarin augurated the Silk India Expo along with socialite SushilaBokadia at Sri Satya Sai Nigamagamam in Srinagar Colony on Thursday.
The six-day expo is organised by Hastashilpi Artisans and Weavers Welfare Association Mysore and features exclusive hand-woven silk designer wear. “It’s glad to see this apparel, particularly silk saris under one roof,” said Kakkar.
“Silk weavers, handloom clusters and silk co-operative societies are showcasing products at this expo. The intension of the organisation is to make indigenous products accessible to customers, without mediators,” said organiser Abhinand. The expo is on until August 7.
