All of us have had good days and not-so-good days. So what can one do when we're not feeling a hundred percent, but the show must go on? Here are few easy ways you can instantly uplift your mood and turn your day around.

1. Embrace you feelings
It's important to acknowledge all your feelings - irrespective of whether or not they are positive. Embrace how you're feeling with an open mind. Write about your feelings/the situation you're facing on a sheet of paper. You can even burn or flush it afterward, to feel "cleansed" of all your negative, stressful thoughts.

2. Take Yourself Out
Sometimes, all it takes to clear your headspace is a couple minutes of "me" time. Spending time with oneself is highly underrated, but,, can work wonders. Leave your gadgets behind and go out on a walk, or to a cafe - spend time alone, talking to yourself. Being mindful about your surroundings also helps a great deal to put things in perspective.

3. Compliment Someone
There are so many positive things we think of the people around us on a daily basis. How about conveying the same to them? We humans have the unique superpower of making someone happy. The smile or happiness on the face of the person you compliment would ultimately make you feel better as well!

4. Listen to music
The kind of music a person listens to, affects their mood to a great extent. There are many celebrities and motivational speakers who endorse that the music they listen to in the morning sets the tone for the day. Listen to powerful, uplifting music - or switch it up with peaceful, calming music - depending on what you need to feel better at the time.

5. Give yourself time
It is okay to not feel happy or upbeat all the time. Whenever you feel like you're in a funk, set a timer for yourself to remain in that mood. Sulk all you want within that set period and tell yourself you will be better after said time. Your mind automatically adjusts back after the set time period has passed.

Society, and now, social media make it seem as if there is an unspoken rule of only projecting a happy and successful picture of oneself to outsiders - this is unnecessary. Noticing, acknowledging and accepting your feelings is a great starting point to turn your day around!
