New Delhi: Liquor baron Vijay Mallya, whose passport has been revoked by the government, on Monday resigned from the Rajya Sabha.
“Recent events suggest that I will not get a fair trial or justice,” said Mallya in his resignation letter. Mallya is at the centre of a raging controversy after he left the country amid continuing efforts by banks to recover dues totalling over Rs 9,000 crore of unpaid loans and interest.
Mallya has said that the Indian government will not be able to recover any money from him by taking his passport or arresting him.
