Five of a family die in Assam landslides
Five people of a family including three child died in landslide incident at Rakhaldubi area in Hailakandi district of Barak Valley.
Guwahati: At least seven people including five of a family died in three landslide incidents following incessant rains in Assam on Tuesday night, officials said on Wednesday.
According to the reports, five people of a family including three child died in landslide incident at Rakhaldubi area in Hailakandi district of Barak Valley.
"The landslide incidents in the district had continued following incessant rains. The family members of Nitai Das were trapped by mud and all persons were died on spot, " a police official said.
Police and rescue teams had recovered the bodies on Wednesday morning.
In separate incident, a 9-year old girl was died at Mahur area in Dima Hasao district.
On the other hand, a 8-year old boy died and four others injured in separate landslide incident in Karimganj district on Tuesday night.
