Due to the violence erupted following the Dera Sacha Sauda head Gurmeet Ram Rahim’s conviction of rape by the special CBI court on August 25 last year, Haryana suffered losses worth Rs 126 crore.

The incident which occurred at Panchkula witnessed losses in terms of damage to public and private property, revenue loss to various departments along with expenses incurred on security.

Haryana has suffered a loss of Rs 1,26,68,71,700 in all the districts with Ambala dealing the maximum loss of Rs 46.84 crore and Fatehabad came in second with Rs 14.87 crore losses.

Sirsa district suffered Rs 13.57 crore loss and the epicenter of violence, Panchkula which witnessed the killing of 36 people in police firing, suffered losses worth Rs 10.57 crore.

Keeping in view of the on-going petition filed by advocate Ravinder Singh Dhull, the details of the violence have been submitted by the Haryana advocate general to the Punjab and Haryana high court.
