IN a shocking incident, two tea plantation workers from Assam, accused of rapting a girl, were dragged out a police station and lynched by an angry mob in Lohit district of Arunachal Pradesh on Monday evening.

Itanagar (Arunachal Pradesh) :IN a shocking incident, two tea plantation workers from Assam, accused of rapting a girl, were dragged out a police station and lynched by an angry mob in Lohit district of Arunachal Pradesh on Monday evening.

The two accused were identified as Sanjay Sobar (32_ and Jagadish Lohar (25). The mob left their bodies on a busy road in Lohit town.

The mob blamed the duo for the kidnap and rape of a 12 year old tribal girl. Later, the girl was found beheaded in a pool of blood. The police arrested Sanjah and Jagadish, who confessed to the crime.On Sunday they were produced in the court and were remanded to police custody. Meanwhile, a large mob gathered outside the police station and dragged the duo out. They lynched them and left the body on the street.

The government took a serious view of the police failure to prevent the mob and suspended three cops. The Superintendent of Police was also shifted out of the district.
